Beauty | Fading & thoughts on living out of town

Living away from the city has been interesting, I’m adapting to new things, finding homely cafes and turning spare time into newly found hobbies such as surfing which is all I think about now. Life is different but good.

Being a city girl at heart, making the move wasn’t easy  though it was an inevitable thing to do with my significant other living away. There aren’t many cafes, or shops. The main stretch is pretty eerie on a Sunday morning with most shops closed. This takes your eyes  and mind away from the materialistic ways of living in an urban town. If you miss it too much the big city is only 2 hours away. You get the best of both worlds.

I’ve taken a quick snap from today. Had a pretty eventful weekend getting amongst it in the surf, making the most of the tail end of summer.

Wrap Up of the Week

The highlights of my week was definitely the NZ fashion weekend where I got to walk in the KMS seminar. It was pretty much my first official time doing a runway job so it was pretty exciting.

I have also got a new hair cut which has started to grow on me. This bowl cut or rounded bob is probably the most edgy bob or hair cut for that matter I have had. I had no idea what I was going to be in for all that I knew was that it would be a page boy cut and would be easy to grow out afterwards.

Had an 8am start with colouring it was pretty quick as my hair just had to be filled and a few foils were put in. Leading hairdresser Clive Alright did the cut and styled the hair. The cut itself took about 2 hours as it is rather technical with the lines, shape and all.

The show was fabulous, a great crowd, awesome entrance on to the runway on the scooter with Clive.

Scored myself a large bundle of products which I will review later on down the track, this will keep me super busy!

Fishing For Fashion

First post! We are Michelle and Nicole, sisters from far far away New Zealand.

The reason for starting up this blog is really to show how outfits can be put together to suit current trends. We started clearing out our wardrobe not so long ago and selling items on TradeMe.co.nz (NZ’s version of Ebay) but we found that what’s lacking is that when you purchase an item, you have no clue how it can be matched with other things or how it actually looks on someone (perhaps a person who is not 5’10 with legs that don’t end).

So for those of you from New Zealand and Australia, some items from each look may be available to be purchased through TradeMe.co.nz and we will have a link for this within the post.

Most of the items we have collected over the years are from various shops and boutiques in New Zealand and online stores, as well as some thrifted goodies or vintage pieces.

So feel free to browse and come back and revisit as we endeavor to update this as frequently as possible.
