Seasonal Hair

Have just had a change in hairstyle again. I swear every time I come out of the salon I have a new cut. Seems like it’s a vicious cycle this relationship I have with short hair. I can never   grow my hair pass shoulder length probably because I lack persistence and determination to grow my hair past that annoying stage. For the time being (again), I am loving short hair.

This is probably the shortest cut I’ve had, it is a short pixie cut and to me it seems very Agyness Deyn inspired. I was absolutely in love with Agyness Deyn’s hair when she had it short a few years back. Though seemingly androgynous at first sight, it definitely grows on you and the styling opportunities are endless. And on the plus side, my hair grows at top speed so having it this short means it I can actually have a 6 week interval between hair cuts.

A common question amongst my friends is do I miss having long hair, and the answer is yes of course and I have tried clip in hair extensions, wigs and growing my hair out. After having shorter hair for nearly 6 years I am glad I plucked up the courage to get a huge chop 6 years ago. I trusted in my hairdresser at the time and we did it. Looking back now, long hair was easy and it was ordinary because I felt like I had the same long straight hair as every other Asian girl.

For those of you wanting a change from long hair,  get a mid length bob for a start, they’re easy to grow out if it doesn’t work out. Getting a change in bangs is another way of changing up a hairstyle, especially with the change in season at the moment go for a blunt fringe.  A major tip is to find a hairdresser that knows how to cut your hair and stick with them.  Trust their opinion on the cut and colour – they know what they are doing.

Dolled up

This week has been really busy, I don’t think I’ve had a free week since forever. I probably start with this line for every post I do on here! Sorry!
Had an amazing hair shoot for the French Revolver studio for a hair competition. My hair remained more or less the same except they put in these cool toned silvery grey layer just underneath my top layer of hair so it shines through in the light.
Make up was cool, with heavily lined eyes and brows, contouring and bright orange lips.
Can’t wait to show you guys the final picture that they chose to submit.

I haven’t been buying much lately, I have been drowned in all this extra stuff that I am doing. But I am waiting for a package to come from River Island. I had to make use of the free shipping that they offered during thanksgiving. I was tempted to buy stuff of Nasty Gal with their 25% off everything sale, but I resisted. I am now on a hunt for more work attire, my wardrobe completely lacks clothes that are suitable for work.

I am super stoked that I have been offered a full time job as well. It hasn’t been a joy ride to say the least for newly graduated pharmacists to find work in Auckland. The most annoying thing is that you have to work for 5 years and even after that finding a job is pretty difficult. I just can’t comprehend that. I have been worrying for months about the prospect of trying to look for work and dreading the vast amount of free time I’ll be having and how to fill it in. But all things worked out in the end.

I will be continuing reviews soon I promise, have several things in my bathroom shelf that I am dying to review.

Hair Transformation | Part 1

Just went to the salon tonight and got my hair trimmed for the competition. The hairdresser will be doing way more than this to my hair, but I thought I would do a step by step transformation diary. I have a had fringes on and off for the past 3 years, but I am really liking this one or perhaps it’s the highlights and the ombre look that makes it more feminine and natural.

Length wise I had it just trimmed, so I didn’t really get much done but it looks so different.

Stay in tune for next weeks transformation 🙂
